The Great Big Green Pop Up

Join us for The Great Big Green Pop Up event in The Chantry Centre on Saturday 24 September.



As part of The Great Big Green Week and Andover's Climate Day of Action, The Great Big Green Pop Up will take place in The Chantry Centre on Saturday 24th September.


Look forward to taking part in lots of different activities, listening to talks from local organisations and browsing stalls at our special eco market.


All activities are FREE and there's no need to book, take a look at what's on below:


Eco Market (9am - 3pm)

Our special Eco Market will feature plenty of local organisations selling eco-friendly products, providing information and running hands-on activities.

Stallholders include: Southern Water, Andover Repair Café, Andover Trees Utd, Friends of The Earth, The Anton River Conservation Association, Test Valley Borough Council, Andover Men's Shed.


Pop Up Shop (9am - 3pm)


  • Pop Up Shop: Repair Cafe (9am - 11am)

Got something that needs fixing? Bring your broken items along to our pop up shop in the Chantry Centre between 9-11am and volunteers from Andover Repair Cafe will try to fix them for you. No need to book ahead. Just turn up.


  • Pop Up Shop: Andover Trees United Talk (11am - 11:30am)

10000 children, 10000 trees, The Creation of a Community Wood.

Andover Trees United share about the development of Harmony Woods over the last ten years, future plans and how everyone can get involved and benefit.


  • Pop Up Shop: Southern Water Talk (11:30am - 12pm)

FOG and Unflushables.

Southern Water talk about history of the sewers, how they work, the problems we face, including pollution from treatment works and what's being done to address this, and also how everyone can help reduce some of the issues.


  • Pop Up Shop: Andover Men's Shed (12pm - 12:30pm)

The Role of Men's Shed.

Andover Men's Shed share about the impact and benefit of this project and how you can support or get involved


  • Pop Up Shop: Kids Eco Craft Workshop (1pm - 3pm)

Make an eco flower using materials that would otherwise go to landfill, with The Art Room. Take your creation home or give it to someone special. Suitable for all ages and abilities.


Garden Area: Upcycled Games (9am - 3pm)

Visit the indoor garden area, next to Boswell's Cafe, and play upcycled games with Andover Men's Shed's, including Mini Golf and Scalextric racing tracks.


Unity Art Studios: Visible Mending (11am & 2pm)

Using needlefelting to repair clean knit wear, join Elly Drew for a demonstration at 11am and 2pm, then she can help you to repair your holey woollens. No holes? No problem, come along and have a go. Want to patch a fabric hole? Fancy darning your (clean) socks? She can help with that too!

Warning: This activity involves working with a barbed needle, this is an adult-only workshop.
