Waitrose store update: 11.05.2022

*Update: as of 12 May, the Waitrose store is now back open*

Hampshire Fire and Rescue teams dealt with a small fire in the Waitrose unit in the Chantry Centre this afternoon (Wednesday 11 May 2022). Staff and customers in the centre evacuated as soon as the fire alarms sounded and everyone got out safely.

The Waitrose store remains closed but fire crews have now let people back in the centre and have left the site. We will let customers know when the store will reopen.

A big thank you to the fire crews and Chantry Centre staff for all their hard work keeping everyone safe!
